Royalty operations ################## Behind this description, four distinct functions are hiding : * royalty statements themselves * automatic verifications * closings * no activity statements These functions are grouped together in order for them to use the exact same calculation formulas and avoid any rounding discrepancy. Statements ---------- A dedicated page is available to address all the aspects of royalty statement calculation, customization and export : .. toctree:: royalty_statements Verifications ------------- Closings -------- Their role is to update, at the end of the period, the balances of the shareholders when : * the rights for the period recoup completely or partially the advances, * the carried forward rights, set aside because the payment threshold was not reached, are augmented or paid (depending on the threshold). It is recommended to make a **backup** of the database before doing the closings because you can't go back. The use is very simple : select the period, indicate the closing date (usually the last day of the period) and click "Next". A screen present you the changes that Le Sage is about to apply. The "Preview estimate" button lets you see/print a report detailing the changes before and after closing. Press "Next" again to validate the closing. A confirmation window will popup to prevent any hazardous action. No activity statements ---------------------- In some countries (France for example), publishers must provide every year to every shareholder for whom they could make statements, a "blank" (or "no activity") statement if there were no rights for them in the period.
